Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair

If you have a family with cats or dogs it is possible to consider purchasing a robotic vacuum that's specially made for hair of pets. These models have powerful suction, which can pick-up fur strands, food crumbs and other food particles as well as kitty litter spills.

They are also usually equipped with large dustbins, which can reduce the frequency of emptying. Some have an extra mopping pad.

1. Eufy RoboVac 11S

The Eufy RoboVac 11S is a budget robot vacuum with some great pet hair-busting features. It's quiet and has a decent-sized dirt compartment as well as a battery, and can do auto cleaning for two minutes or longer in spot cleaning mode. It also comes with BoostIQ that can automatically switch between 'Standard Power' and 'Maximum Suction' to ensure the best performance for each flooring type.

It doesn't map rooms like Roomba however it does have reactive obstacle avoidance technology as well as drop-sensors to prevent it from hitting things (like the dogs or cats) or falling down stairs. It also has the ability to pause and resume cleaning as it sifts out debris and then moves it to the charging base. It also has an automatic self-emptying feature as well as an extremely small dust bin so that you don't need to see or touch what it's sucking up.

When we test the 11S it did well on plain floors and a carpet that was medium with cat hair. It didn't perform as well on carpets with high piles and had a tougher time dealing with heavier debris, such as cereal and kitty litter. However, it did better than the majority of its competition. It also was able to climb over low-lying obstructions like cords with ease and did an excellent job of keeping pet hair off the brushes and wheels.

One thing we did notice was that it wasn't doing as well at handling dog hair as the other models we tested, however the amount of pet hair was much lower than what we observed in other tests. The 11S has some limitations too, such as not being able schedule and only having a limited range of voice commands. However they're not major concerns.

While  best robot vacuum and mop combo for pet hair  is a good option however, we would suggest checking out other robot vacuums with more advanced functionality. The iRobot Roomba 960, for instance, is built better, easier to maintain, with a bigger dirt compartment, faster recharge time and intelligent pathing, and works better on all surfaces than the eufy. The iRobot is also able to remove more pet hair, and comes with a wider list of functions that can assist you with your home automation.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 Omni offers a premium hands-free experience for cleaning floors. It's among the most powerful robotic vacuums on the market and has excellent capabilities for removing pet hair and litter. It's also compatible with smart home assistants, such as Alexa and Google Assistant, making it easy to fine-tune your cleaning schedule and use voice commands.

However its obstacle avoidance capabilities need improvement. The T10 Omni tends to hit furniture and baseboards of cabinets that are loose and can get stuck in tight corners of the home. It also can damage surfaces and furniture by knocking against furniture as it tries to get out of rooms. The T10 is somewhat haphazard when it comes to pathing as well. It doesn't have the ability to discern things like cords and socks and so it gets through them.

The new T10+ is a much improved model. It has a better navigation system, and does not have the camera that was on the earlier models. Ecovacs instead chose to use lasers and a structured light source to aid in navigation. This is a smart decision because it allows the T10 to avoid furniture and obstacles more effectively.

The T10+ also has an automatic dock that cleans and dry the mopping pads, preventing the growth of bacteria. It also has a powerful suction capacity of 8,000Pa and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control. It is also the most expensive robotic vacuum in our line-up however it is a great option for homes with a lot of carpeted areas.

While all pet robot vacuums have a certain level of intelligence, some are more advanced than others. For instance, some have the capability to create a customized cleaning schedule and choose which rooms to clean. Some dust bins are larger, which reduces the frequency of emptying them. Other models have tangle-free roll brushes to minimize the amount of long hair that is being sucked up and then tossed into the bin. Some models have a less raucous operating noise, which can be beneficial for families with sensitive ears. Additionally some robotic vacuums for pet hair are compatible with smart home assistants for voice control and connect to apps on smartphones to monitor cleaning progress.

Roomba 960 from iRobot

The Roomba 960 robotic vacuum is one of the most effective pet hair. It did well in most of our tests, although it did struggle with carpets and had issues with certain obstacles, such as rug tassels. It is also slightly more expensive than its competitors. However, it does have more features and better navigation than other models we tested.

It comes with a huge dustbin and comes with an invisible wall, which helps keep it out of areas where you don't want it be. It's compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and allows you to control the robot using voice commands. The iRobot application lets you see a map of all the areas it has cleaned and you can set the cleaning preferences.

When we tested it on bare floors the 960 did an outstanding job. It picked up a great deal of debris on the surface, including cereal, and did a great job of removing embedded debris. It isn't bad on carpets with low piles however it loses steam when the dirt compartment is filled up. It also has a few pieces that need to be replaced frequently.

It scored highly in our Home Coverage Test which is 20% of the robot's total score. It covered the entire furnished room, which is more than any other robot we have evaluated. The 960 also did an excellent job on the stairs, which is not easy for most robots to tackle. It did not do as well on carpets as the 980 or our top choice one, the Neato Botvac D80, but it did manage to do an excellent job.

It's a bit more expensive than the D80 however it comes with an impressive set of smart features and a bigger dustbin. The 960 is an excellent choice if you don't mind sacrificing the ability to navigate and detect obstacles but still want to have excellent debris removal. It is also less expensive than the 980, meaning it will have fewer recurring costs.

4. Roomba 980 from iRobot

The Roomba 980 is iRobot's most powerful robot vacuum and their top model for tackling pet hair. It's slightly more expensive than some of the other options on this list, but it has a blend of brains and muscle that makes it one of the most efficient robot vacuums on the market. It comes with the tread to go over uneven floors, the suction to get rid of cat litter that's scattered throughout your home, and connectivity to allow you to control it remotely and even arrange cleanings from distance.

It's also the most intelligent robot vacuum we've tested. It utilizes iRobot's most sophisticated software to map your home and plan the best course of action for cleaning. To do this, it utilizes a camera, an on-board sensor, and a unique algorithm called VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping).

Despite being able to navigate its way around your home with ease The Roomba 980 isn't a perfect machine. Its swift cleaning process leaves behind a dusty smattering of sawdust on vinyl and an adequate amount of pet hair on carpet. It is able to be manually directed with the help a virtual barrier to avoid these areas.

The iRobot App lets you set them up near your pet's water and food bowls, as well as anywhere you want to keep out. If you're looking for a little more assistance in preventing your pet's hair from getting on the floor The 980 comes with a special Power Boost mode that amplifies suction when needed.

As far as the user experience is concerned, the 980 is enjoyable to use. Its large, central CLEAN button is easy to find and it presses down with satisfying clicks to begin the robot's cleaning cycle. There are three additional buttons on the exterior: the power button as well as a schedule button and a reset button.
